Kerrville 2000

New Folk

Reba and I always sit through both days of the New Folk competition. This is a major feature of Kerrville. It has had its ups and downs over the 13 years we have been watching, but it is definitely on the up side the last couple of years.


Eleni Kelakos Edgell from Los Angeles was impressive but did not win -- there were 6 award winners from the 32 finalists.	Richard Berman had two excellent songs but was not an award winner.	Four of the winners, flanked by judges Sally Fingerette a nd Diane Zeigler.


Barbara Phaneuf has already played at Vic's Music Corner and my showcase at NERFA.	Deirdre Flint was a NERFA showcaser in in 1998 -- she is a very funny lady. She was an Award Winner.	Andrew McKnight is a local DC favorite.
